Repaint, repaint!!!

Randy, the painter, often thinned his paint to make it go further. The Baptist Church decided to restore its biggest building. Randy put in a low bid and got the job. He bought the paint, and, yes, thinned it with turpentine. Well, Randy was painting away, the job nearly completed, when suddenly there was a clap of thunder. The sky opened, and the rain poured down. It washed the thinned paint off the church. Randy fell from the scaffold, landing among the gravestones. He was no fool. He knew this was a judgment from the Almighty. Randy raised his voice to the heavens, crying, "Oh, forgive me; what should I do?" And from above, a mighty voice roared:

A blonde entrepreneur is going house to house offering to do painting jobs. The man at the first house bargains with her to paint his porch for $50. She agrees, and he supplies her with the paint and tools. Just an hour or so later, the doorbell rings. He says, "Wow, that was fast." She says, "Thanks, I had time to give it two coats, and I even had paint left over. Oh, and it's not a porch. It's a Ferrari, silly."

I don't care for romance novels, but I love science fiction. It is true that e-readers make it hard for anyone to tell what you're reading. I'd call that an advantage. And I don't care what Al Mohler says; I don't like him much anyway. :D

I think TGL prefers books with pictures. This one only has one.

One of the books mentioned in the article, Fifty Shades of Grey, was the topic of discussion on the Today show about a week ago.  The news anchor on the show queried the guests who had read it, stating that it was really nasty, bondage, violence, etc.  It amazes me that we've devolved as a society so much that such crap is mainstream now.  Adrian Rogers talked about the fact that people once blushed at things that were hid in the back alleys and seedy sections of town, but now it's paraded down mainstreet.  Sad, but true.

LOL.... That was worth a "in thread".... "applaud"....  ;D

Porn is for sinners, men and women alike.

"It amazes me that we've devolved as a society so much that such crap is mainstream now."
Why are you amazed?
"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:Their feet are swift to shed blood:Destruction and misery are in their ways:And the way of peace have they not known:There is no fear of God before their eyes."

"Adrian Rogers talked about the fact that people once blushed at things that were hid in the back alleys and seedy sections of town, but now it's paraded down mainstreet.  Sad, but true."
"Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not inquire wisely concerning this.
I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope."

Because moral decay happened so fast.

Hard to argue with Scripture, so I'll agree that evil has always existed and heinous sin has reared its ugly head throughout time.  And ultimately I do trust God no matter how bad things get, but I know we never locked our doors when I was a kid, but wouldn't think of leaving them unlocked now.  Porn was definitely not as available and mainstream in its toleration/acceptance.  Don't ask don't tell hadn't happened.  Gay marriage was what Fred and Wilma had.  Crack, meth, oxycodone, and a host of other massively addictive drugs didn't seem to cast the same horrible shadow of crime and misery.  Postmodernism didn't grip the universities, effectively saying "who cares what the Bible says about ethics and morality".  I could go on, but you get the point.  Yes, God is still sovereign, but I don't relish seeing evil wax worse and worse all around me.

Kind of reminds me of a situation I had awhile back. I purchased a used PSP on Ebay for my kids, but before giving it to them I played around with it. Glad I did this since the device had 3 pornographic videos on it.

Were they any good?  :P

Were they any good?
