Haven't heard any recent updates on pastor Wilkerson and FBCH.  How are things going?

I have been told that in a nutshell, FBC is the same place it was last year at this time attendance wise.

which supposedly is more than when Schaap left, but down from 5 years ago

From what I understand......

Same old - Same old.  Just a different MOG.  Everyone is still believing they are the only ones in the world who are right-with-God.  Still working people to death.  Still filled with political maneuvering to have the greatest clout.  Still...........

Are you there?
Or is your report from what you have heard others say?
I'm not goading you into a sarcasm fest, just trying to get a handle on the truth.

Only from the personality and conversations with family who is there.  Seems to be no change in the course of the ship, just a new headmaster.

Binaca Chugger,
Your name remind me of all those years carrying a binaca jug every where I go. Now that I am away from the place and see things more differently, I didn't realize that I and a lot of others have tried to imitate everything Brother Hyles do. From the Binaca, Reeses butter cup, how he preaches and so on...
I am wondering now if I was trying to be like Brother Hyles or Christ, I guess it was more like bro. Hyles and if I was a better Christian because of it. I think not.

First: Get right with God!

Then, I suggest you go out and get a bottle of Binaca, not the little one, the big one.  Pop the little plastic drop maker off and throw that thing back.  Next, get out your Stacy Adams, kick over a microphone and clear your throat loudly 175 times.

Now, doesn't that feel better?  Remind you of the good 'ol days, right?

You better have unbuttoned your top button and loosened your tie for effect before that exclamation.  If not, your just a pink-tea-lemonade, wallflower, panty-waisted liberal!

Don't worry, he didn't take off his suit coat!!

Everyone I have talked to at FBC gushes all over Wilkerson and proclaims how much they love and admire him for his humility never realizing the gushing and humility are in opposite accord. He does seem genuine in person. It's the FBC man worship culture that needs fixing.

Oh, now that is just very well said...

What they need is a good "hate your preacher campaign" or better yet, just hang out on the FFF for a while. That will cure anyone of the least bit of love, loyalty or respect for the preacher.

BWAAAHAAHAAHAAHAA!

Might be a good idea to help shock them into reality!

Point taken. In a normal church - whatever that is - loving your pastor is not anywhere near worshiping the pastor. FBC has a long history of the latter. It makes the former, well, a little suspect in their case. But I think I get your point.
