I have been told that in a nutshell, FBC is the same place it was last year at this time attendance wise.

Now that I am away from the place and see things more differently, I didn't realize that I and a lot of others have tried to imitate everything Brother Hyles do. From the Binaca, Reeses butter cup, how he preaches and so on...
I am wondering now if I was trying to be like Brother Hyles or Christ, I guess it was more like bro. Hyles and if I was a better Christian because of it. I think not.

Everyone I have talked to at FBC gushes all over Wilkerson and proclaims how much they love and admire him for his humility never realizing the gushing and humility are in opposite accord. He does seem genuine in person. It's the FBC man worship culture that needs fixing.

Point taken. In a normal church - whatever that is - loving your pastor is not anywhere near worshiping the pastor. FBC has a long history of the latter. It makes the former, well, a little suspect in their case. But I think I get your point.
