Why Predators Are Attracted to Careers in the Clergy

Scary insights that ought to make those of us who have been caught in the tidal waves or wakes of fallen or found out church leaders say, "So that's how they could get away with that stuff & yet still keep or maintain such a loyal following."

A few thoughts:
  • It is OK to use the brain that God has given us to think for yourself. "Trust but verify."
It is OK to ask questions of leaders.
It is OK to be questioned as a leader.
It is OK to sound an alarm if there is questionable activity.
It is OK to leave a church if the above is not allowed.
It is OK to give 100% loyalty to God as He & He alone is 100% true & trustworthy.

I am sure Frag would read this with an open mind and respond with a heartfelt

DOEG!!!!

What else can he do? The article practically quotes him verbatim.

One has to wonder if these weaknesses are revealed after position or created from the position.
Created from.  if we actually cared what the Scriptures say about Church leadership, we would find a built in system of checks and balances that IFB have ignored in my lifetime.

I agree. I don't know if the "Man-of-Gawd" mentality is THE reason for all these predators prospering in IFB pulpits, but it surely is a major factor.
