He's wrong! Completely wrong about this point about fasting.
Fasting is not used to show God how serious you are about a matter that you are fasting over.
Fasting is used to submit yourself to God in humility, to crucify the flesh and to use the prompting of hunger to remind you that your real hunger is to be after God. Fasting is not for sacrifice. Fasting is for bringing your flesh into complete subjection and your heart and mind into accord with God's mind on a subject matter. God will and does answer a fast many times by giving revelation that can only come when you are properly in accord with His will.
Far too many times I find people wanting to use works to buy God off. I am so sick of that mentality.
