One of the worst classes I had at HAC was biology. The tall thin "professor" gave an assignment to write down all of the animals listed in the OT. I should have left that day.

One of the worst sermons that I can remember was Carl Laurent's, "Turn or Burn."  Got everyone's attention due to the pyrotechnics, but there wasn't much content.

You're requiring content?  Nit picker.

Given the fact we never heard an expositional sermon, they were all pretty terrible. The Bible was not preached as a story about Jesus. So take your pick.

Denny Kenaston on Holiness.

Total flaming Arminian.

This was when the doctrines of Grace were generally accepted at FBCH.

He was fired the next day.

A message on Holiness getting the speaker fired?

Sounds about right.

Did this happen in the 70's?

Yep, he claimed it had been several days since he had sinned as he had achieved sinless perfection.

The very words he used that he did not sin were themselves sin. He knows now as he died in 2012.

His sermons live on.

78 or 79 kinda hard to remember, one way to pin down when is by finding out when Ray Young became B bus dirrector as he took Denny's place.

I could be wrong but I believe it was spring of 80. I left in June 1980 and I thought it was shortly before.

The administrative wheels turned fast when they wanted them to.

I seem to recall a number of men who where shown the door when they crossed the line.

I'm a little vague on the details and timeline after 40 years but I believe there were a few people at HAC - students and faculty -  proclaiming that they were leading a sinless life. All were let go or expelled quite quickly. Sorry - I can't recall the names of those involved.

I started in the Fall of '79 and Ray Young was already the bus director.

It may have been the '80 school year, but still in '79.

I know it wasn't after this, because my Father earned his Master's, walking in the Spring of '80.
He was there, for the sermon, and the famous corrective measure counterpoint rant by JH.

earnestly contend

I believe this was the first year for using the Beiler Auditorium. Chapel was being held in the Capuchin Seminary of St. Mary Chapel,

Known as the Jim Sallee Building but later changed to Marlene Evans building. Ah, those naming rights, always changing.

John Beiler paid to build it. He died in 2015 at 72.

This was the same building that St. John the Evangelist Church in St. John, Indiana used for mass while their new building was built.

I remember a dedication for the Beiler Auditorium but do not recall when it was in relation to the building opening.

I think the Beiler Auditorium was the first building we built on the property.

How many knew John Beiler was AOG?
