Mine was the Commodore VIC-20. Bought it at Montgomery Ward's for (I think) $299 in 1981. My best friend Kenny and I thought we had died and gone to heaven. We became instant "experts" at everything computer related. In reality, we didn't know squat, but hey, when you're a teenager, it's okay to dream. LOL :D

I remember my Uncle teaching me how to type in the commands after I put the cassette tape in the tapedrive on his Commodore 64.

Mine was a Tandy, also.  I don't remember the model.  Boy, I was on cloud 9 when we bought that thing!  It served me well for many, many years.

The next computer we owned was given to me as payment for using it to do all the administrative/financial work for a regional seminar for a building trade organization.  It had Microsoft Office Suite.  That thing was sweet!  ;D

Something like that.
I remember having to type in command prompts manually on the Apple II E's we had in 1991 in the Corps.
The Gov. had an afinity for these Texas Instrument / IBM platforms, so anyone who could use a Mac had 'privileges'.

Mine was a Morrow Micro Decision Z80. It was actually a word processor on steroids. It did do some basic computing and I did learn the basic language on it. Since my wife's father worked at IBM for 34 years, I wound up with an IBM PC Jr. and then a IBM-XT in quick succession the first few years of our marriage (1982-86). Never owned a MAC. They were from the Debbil!

My first computer was a Commodore 64.  In fact it was the only computer I have ever owned.  Today I go the the library and use one of the computers there.

Did you ever play Snack-Man, or Pac-acuda?
