You show yourself a fool...the mere fact that you would equate the pastor cheating to Bible versions, music or the color of the building shows what an idiot you are...I truly hope you don't actually preach or teach anywhere!

I forgave your pastor..... :(

Leave a church because of sin? Sin is the human condition, the reason why we need Jesus in the first place. Leaving a church because of sin is like leaving a hospital because of illness.

Still, there probably is behavior from people in the church that would impel me to leave. I can't say in advance just what it might be. I'll bridge that cross when I come to it. But I can say that changing bible versions, the music or the color of the building isn't it.

That would be more a reason for the church to fire the pastor than for me to leave it.

Why forgive him? He did not ask for it, nor did he do anything to require it. Why would you offer forgiveness to someone who has done nothing to wrong you?

Perhaps the sin of unrepentant pride. But, I don't just leave a Church anymore. The Church is more than just a pastor. It is a body of believers. So, if something happened at our Church I would pray and seek to help my brothers and sisters.

Recently we had an evangelist come to our Church and he said too many get caught up in Bible versions, and music ... they ignore the real reasons for Church, separation, and serving God. He is right you know. NIV or KJV ... truth is still available.

I agree. But I would (and recently did) leave a church for a better one. Not because the one I was in had problems (minor stuff only, nothing worth leaving over), but because the new one is especially good, and seemed more where I belonged in terms of doctrine, culture and politics. I'm glad I made the change.

Yes, this is true, a change in doctrine or culture, or even politics could generate a need to leave. But, for me, at the moment all three of those I am happy with.
