Even though we should have doctrinal purity and stand for truth and unashamedly preach the gospel, many times us Fundamental Baptist many times lack love.  For this reason many people do not want to go to a Baptist church because they do not feel loved.  It is a shame because the Baptist are the ones with the truth.  "No one cares what you know until they know that you care!"

1Co 13:1  Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
1Co 13:2  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
1Co 13:3  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
1Co 13:4  Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1Co 13:5  Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1Co 13:6  Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
1Co 13:7  Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Along with a whole host of other people...

Agreed that Baptists, especially Fundamental Baptists, sometimes lack love, which is as important as Paul said. Not agreed that they are the ones with the truth, at least not more so than many other churches.

Where do other churches have the truth and the Baptists not?  Baptist is the closest church that Im have found that have doctrines identical to the Bible.

Yes and to not be honest with one's conscience is bad.

For example:  The doctrine of salvation for me can not be tampered with.  Jesus saves and him alone, any variation from that in my opinion is heresy.

I'll happily admit Baptists are one of the churches with the truth. But I'd say the same about every church that has the Gospel right, and that's many of them. You don't think only Baptists are saved, do you?

I have found the IFB community to be the most loving, compassionate, selfless people I have ever met.  Whether someone needs encouragement, financial help, funeral needs, hospital visits, meals for the ill, rides to doctor appts, lawn care for elderly, newborn help for young mothers, support for military and families, late night transport to the ER, or prayer for unsaved loved ones.  Of course, I have only been in IFB churches for 36 years, so I haven't had the opportunity to observe too much.

My current church is like that also but there are many IFB churches that are legalistic and judgmental.

If the liberals would stand on truth and the Fundamentalists learn to love, we could win this world for Christ.

Well, I guess we all knew it would only be a matter of time until IRONMAN outed himself.

Where do you find the word "love" in you verses above?

this is what's wrong

people deciding who is good enough and who is not to serve god    and to what capacity

playing god in someones life

this game destroys      people        lives and service

it is what kills a church and gods work

If you are going to use "God"...show enough respect to capatilize His Name!

It may sound cliche-ish and even troll-ish, but there's a lot of truth in that statement. It would be a Good Thing if more liberals were orthodox, and more fundamentalists were loving.

you have proven my point

god is        still        on the throne in my life whether i capitalize his name or not

And you prove my point...you have chosen to openly disrespect God when you know better...you ought to check out who is really on the throne of your life!

You know, capitalization of proper nouns is merely a cultural norm.  In the Bible there are no capitals.  Hebrew was all consonants and Greek was all lower case run together, as in the Rylands papyrus, the oldest known manuscript known in Greek.

Yes I know that as I have studied both Hebrew and the Greek...but she didn't write "God" in those languages...in English the capitalization of Diety is proper and respectful...to leave in the small case "g" is to refer to a god who is not the  One true and living God...I am sure you knew that?

I understand your view. But I capitalize God because it is a proper noun.  It really has nothing to do with respect(although i do respect, revere and honor God). I capitalize the name Horace when I write it too, but not because Horace is the one true living Horace.  I am not being facetious here. I am serious.   It is totally a thing of cultural norms.

And our culture capitalizes God because it is a proper noun. We do not capitalize god because it is just a noun.  She is trying to break cultural grammar and spelling norms to be less formal.  Who cares?

She probably chews tobacco too. Who cares? (Here I am not being serious.)
