In California a teacher was fired for having been a porn star in her past.  Of all the left leaning places that you'd think would be lenient on such matters California would top the list.

And then you have the Boy Scouts who are about to cave and let homos into their ranks.

Guns are evil and a scourge on society, about to be outlawed.

Marijuana is just another hobby.

In my neck of the woods the ACLU and every other nutjob leftist group is hellbound to get a picture of Jesus removed from the local middle school.
What in the world's next?

I'm sure the students and teachers watched several hours, just to make sure it was her.

in which is only a few miles from where I currently live, and I hadn't heard anything about the drill.  We are most definitely in troubling times as far as our freedoms go.  Some gun-owners I know fear that the current regime is embarking on an agenda to shame gun owners, even using the indoctrination of children in public schools to do so.

Most people are hypocritical when it comes to this. First off, we all go to the dentist and get Novocaine before the dentist drill, right? and what is Novocaine a dirivitive of?  Cocaine.
We all like our pain meds (or opiates) when we have had an operation right? ( I had a kidney stone last year and was eating hydrocodone while going through it) what are these drugs? a broken down version of?....heroin, from the poppy plant.
God made all plants and said it was "good"(Gen 1:31) Now I don't approve of recreational use, but I know there are several medical journals that approve the use of marijuana for patience going through issues. When I was on hydrocodone, I didn't eat until I was off it. Marijuana suppresses pain and stimulates appetite(munchies) so people can get the nutrients their bodies need to help them recuperate. There is a brother in my church, who is going through major medical issues, who confided in me that he smokes in the evening so he can get some food in him, his prescribed pain meds kills his appetite and doesn't help him digest food well. God created this plant for a purpose, and I believe that He wouldn't look down on using it for medical purposes, like the poppy and coca plants.

Remember God is in charge......this is our temporary home...I think there's a song out there !!

JRChurch, We  live close to the airport and for the last few days jets have been flying around our home and they are so low everything in the house shakes..............my neighbor is new to the area and he said it scared him ............

Last week, I got a notice from my HOA that I was no longer allowed to park our cars in the street in front of our house even though the county has no restrictions. They also passed a rule that cars cannot be parked in one's driveway for more than 24 hours at a time but are required to be kept in the garage.

Problem is we have 4 registered/insured vehicles because we have 4 licensed drivers and our garage is full (houses have no basements and very limited attic storage space). In addition, the driveway can fit only 2 cars. So basically the HOA has the right to put a lien on our house because we own 4 operational cars and have to park in our own driveway and on the street in front of our house.

Weird stuff...

Was this rule in effect when you bought the property? If not, I don't believe they can retroactively make you abide by it since it wasn't what you agreed to. However, I'm not a lawyer, so I could wrong.

I have family that attended a small church pastored by an HAC grad.  The girls in the family have secretly worn pants for years.

The pastor has decided that he is no longer going to preach against pants on women since it can not be directly proven with scripture.

The family left for FBCH because of the change in standards. ???

Not sure. Before we purchased the house, we were not given any by-laws nor did we sign any agreement concerning HOA by-laws. After the purchase, it was irrelevant because at the time we had only two drivers and two cars (and the driveway thing was never enforced). Right now, I've contacted the property management company and they are going to take it to the HOA board to see if we can become an exception. If the board disagrees, then I will have to contact a lawyer, I'm sure. But when I take my daily walk in the morning, there are generally about 25 cars parked on the streets in the subdivision every morning so I don't know how they are going to enforce it on every violator.

I'm not opposed to reasonable and prudent medical marijuana usage.  The three states that recently made it legal made no such stipulations however.  That is a harbinger of things to come.

I'm not opposed to responsible recreational use of regular marijuana.  (By "regular" I mean just a normal marijuana plant, not some hybrid meant to amplify the THC to abnormal levels.)  I don't have any desire to do it myself, though.

It's just a plant.  Some plants are good for you.  Some are poisonous.  Some are neither, but give you a pleasant mind-altering experience -- like chamomile, valerian, kava kava, passion flower, etc.  My wife makes all kinds of tonics from various Chinese mushrooms and plants.

So is coca just a plant.  I would try chewing coca leaves if I could, because I heard you get the same stimulation as a cup of tea or coffee, and they have other beneficial effects like making a headache go away.

IMO, it's stupid for the government to criminalize plants.  Criminalize some of the refined drugs, maybe.  Leave the plants alone.

Look, I'm not a doctor, I just play one on TV. ;)

Recently a pregnant Charlotte woman was murdered and the murderer was convicted of 2 counts of murder: mother and "unborn child".

Yet abortion is legal because the unborn child is not a life but a fetus.

Don't get that one either.
