I do a search for my husband's name and up pop's his picture from our church pictures........Who made those public? It was on google which I'm beginning to not like. I'm private .........Any ideals please tell me.............

There is no such thing as privacy anymore.  We have to get used to it.  Anyone takes a picture, tags your name and google's facial recognition software will go to work.

Just remember:  Google = Skynet

Funny you should ask, I was listening to Kim Commando the digital goddess who has her own radio show last weekend and someone asked that question. There is a way to do that. I cannot remember the website where you just put in a website name and you can find out who owns a website, with the owners name, email and mailing address. With that info you can then contact the owner and ask to have the content removed from the website.  BTW Sherryh it will not remove your photo from the US Postal services stations, just kidding.

Go to her site and if it is not there, write her. Good luck.

Simply put, if you don't want any of your photos to show up on the internet, don't put them or let anyone else put them on a webpage.

It is referred to as a "Who Is" lookup and there are many sites that offer the service free.  However, most people pay a couple bucks extra to keep their info private.  In such cases, the info listed goes to the hosting company who answers the phone and does not give out information.

As far as keeping your pics off the internet....It is impossible.  If anybody posts a picture of you - even in the background - google will find you.  Facebook and google work marvelously well to help people find friends.  Also - read the fine print on Facebook.  Any picture you post immediately becomes the copyrighted property of facebook and they can do whatever they want with it.

Google = Skynet!

Thanks everyone.............I shouldn't complain at least it's a good pic :)

I opt/out of everything..........
