Wallowing in the lap of bitterness....

"We can sometimes feel that holding on to our bitterness is a fight for justice. In other words, if we drop our bitterness we’ll thereby acquit the cruel, insensitive person or persons who contributed to our suffering. This is a rationalization for our wish to hold on to our suffering".

Do you generally consider anyone that has left the IFB to be "bitter"?

I do hope you know that use to be same "defense" used against any women who left their husband and dared to tell anyone why she left.

"Bitterness is stupidly self-inflicted by people who refuse to be open to understanding, knowledge, and compassion."

It does seem to describe the IFBX'ers in the article.  ;)

I'm only bitter when those dang kids won't get off my lawn.

Paragraph 4:
"Our mind, when it lacks consciousness, can easily interpret old or new memories to conjure up negative emotions. Bitterness is produced when we indulge in these emotions until our splurge of intemperance scorches the soul. To make matters worse, we can hold on to those painful interpretations as if they were the family jewels. “That which is bitter to endure,” said historian Thomas Fuller, “may be sweet to remember.”

You going to bring Vic into this? :)

No need...I find many IFBX'ers to be bitter at those who have found liberty in Christ. You see the IFBX'er needs all these pressures and heavy loads to do the work of God. But I thought Jesus said my yoke is easy and my burden was light.

When you go back to the third paragraph (which comes before the forth :) ) you find that those who are bitter are closed minded...

I agree, they are closed minded and obsessed with the object of their bitterness.
Which could apply to people of any given philosophy or persuasion.

And could be applied to a freebird as well when they obsess over the IFBX'er

You sure have changed. For whence comes your new found affinity for IFBxer bashing?

My statement was made with a winky emoticon at the end.

Now closed mindedness does seem to describe some of the IFBX'er sort, not sure that is bashing or just stating my observation.

I'd say the article relates to the constant Xer bashers as much as to the Xers!
Indeed, if the shoe fits.....
