As my mind sifted through some old memory tapes I recalled that the missionary movement from England and the United States has been described as a colonization effort designed for the purpose of cultural genocide.

Could not the same be said of the United States funding programs designed to change the cultural norms of other countries?

I think FEMA has a role, but it needs a complete overhaul. They waste money like it going out of style then they are broke when we need it.

Fema bought 145,000 mobile homes and trailers after Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita in 2005 )about $2,800,000,000 worth) and most were never used. They were later sold off at a huge loss because the storage cost was too high. Remember the federal government controls 650 million acres of land in the United States, which is about 30% of the country's total land area. This includes national parks, national forests, and national wildlife refuges. Yet we had no places to store them. How about the desert with 1/2 dozen security guards per shift.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), and National Park Service (NPS) manage about 95% of all federal land.
