Udate On Pastor's Daughter Shot In Head

A tragic accident. I would hate to be that man who accidentally fired the weapon.  He has to live with that the rest of his life.

There is no such thing as an "accidental" discharge of a firearm. But there are NEGLIGENT discharges! The guy was an idiot who broke every rule of gun safety!

1. Treat every gun as loaded until magazine has been removed and chamber has been checked. FAIL #1
2. Never point a gun at anyone or any thing you are not willing to kill or destroy. FAIL #2
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. FAIL #3
4. Identify your target and what is behind, beside, and in front of your target. FAIL #4
5. Handle with care! Fail #5

His license to carry should be PERMANENTLY revoked! :(

Agree on all points

So sad. She was doing really well for a few days (surprised even the doctors and nurses I think) but God took her home.

I can only imagine what the family is feeling right now but also her boyfriend (at his young age he may have never experienced this kind of loss).

He is (or was) also a security guard/ rent-a-cop - they need better training for those guys I think.
If you are going to take a gun to church or any where to sell it or whatever - at least write a note on your calendar to remove the bullet before taking it there.

I agree he should have his license taken away.

This breaks my heart.  Yet I know God is good and merciful. May he comfort the brokenhearted, and give grace to the offender. The burden he bears will be great.

There should be no license needed. That is another topic.

As a thorough going libertarian I believe the 2nd Amendment is all the "license" anyone needs to own or carry a firearm.

However, as Certified Firearms (Pistol) instructor and a State of California Certified Firearms Safety instructor I think a wise person would seek out as much training as available to try to insure that such terrible things as above do not happen.

Under the current law, even though I think it violates the "shall not be infringed" clause of the 2nd Amendment, he was licensed by a State licensing authority and that license should be revoked, and the licensing agency investigated to see how well they adhere to the minimum training standards of the licensing authority.

I know. It is a shame we have to purchase our rights to bear arms.
