I had several friends who attended here over the years, including a couple from MBBC. I met Dr. Kennedy and corresponded with him from time to time. He always was kind, courteous, and very insightful in any Biblical direction he gave, I had great respect for him.

I enjoyed listening to Kennedy and greatly respected his zealousness for evangelism, I can't say I have such respect for Tullian Tchividjian. It seems like the well-worn narrative of the Christian celebrity phenomenon, sprinkled with the hubris of thinking the kingdom can't be advanced without their public leadership presence.

I have to admit I knew nothing of Tchividjian, apart from his being Billy Graham's grandson, until the whole scandal broke a few years ago.

I assume that like Ravi Zacharias, Bill Hybels, or Bruxy Cavey, he had a pretty good reputation before his sins became known?

Maybe the few hundred men are coming to this conference for the axe-throwing, not to hear Tullian.

But seriously, folks, the restoration of Tullian to the ministry is symptomatic of the modern tendency in evangelical Christianity to quickly rehabilitate and restore problematic preachers back into circulation as soon as possible: James McDonald, Perry Noble, Mark Driscoll, and on and on, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

Tullian Tchividjian was the subject of a lot of controversy long before his sexual exploits became known. He was called to the pastorate at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in 2009, and almost immediately there was a ruckus about him in the congregation. He survived a vote to remove him, and some members left the church. The fracas seemed to be over such relatively unimportant matters as his not wearing a robe in the pulpit, not preaching on politics, etc. It's old news, but if there are those who want to research the matter, check out these links:

You can say he is restored I don't believe it one second. Lets follow him for a few years and even then I don't follow man only the Lord.

Here is a place where celebrity preachers with morals problems go to get themselves "restored." (I don't endorse this "ministry" and would not agree to be in a church pastored by any of these raunchy "restored" retreads).
