Couldn’t read the whole article without subscribing so it’s hard to get sufficient context to answer, but generally speaking Trump provides ample ammunition for the rabid MSM to persuade significant reasonable people that he’s an egomaniac and needs somebody to take away his microphone at times.
 
keep it up and you will be living under president mamala harris in a few months...... there are still a lot of undecided voters out there and they are looking to see what conservatives say about trump and if they believe what his own explanation for such remarks were... .. which... so far.... it doesn;t seem many here believed him........ did any of you actually watch that speech?........ i saw the whole thing from start to finish and i didn;t get the impression from his comments what is being reported in the left wing news about it now.......

yes. .... the left will take anything they can and attempt to use it against him...... if he didn;t give them something they would make something up....... all the more reason republicans and other conservatives need to stand together and have each others back in this election..... ..... in her very core kamala harris is a marxist ... and like a true marxist she will tell whatever lie she needs to tell to get into power.... .. and once in power the true marxist she is will come out of her shell.... it really worries me that some christians seem to prefer that kind of government... as if somehow christianity will be made stronger under an oppressive communist government than it could be under what we have now......

I give modest criticism to Trumps foibles in the same evangelical tradition as Semper Reformanda (always reforming). I agree with you that the comparison of his platform and the democratic alternative is like night and day, but general principles of accountability demand minimal scrutiny. In the context of such discussion here on this forum I don’t think there’s any “undecideds” that might use such discussion as fodder for flipping to Harris.

We all, whether right or left wish "THEY" would take away his phone and his microphone from time to time. If he loses this election, it will be his own fault. Oh if DJT could just have the dignity, class and poise of a statesman. The most damaging ads are of the things he did actually say and meant. The best campaign ads are just of him speaking his mind or making crazy gestures. He has done more damage to his own re-election than all the people lying about him put together.

in other words - rather than seeing someone who is truthful and speaks his mind... people would be more comfortable seeing trump put on a fake polished image and assume the false persona of a modern politician.... ... (to me the phrase "whited sepulchre" comes to mind....) ...that;s what i think of when i hear people say they wish he was more "presidential".... or put another way.. more like the people in politics we have already endured for the last few decades and have grown to distrust and despise......

no.... if trump loses the election it might be partly his own fault but it won;t be entirely or even mostly his own....... the majority of the blame will rest with those in his own party who couldn;t get used to the idea that a polished whited tomb is not what we needed as a president any more..... and who couldn;t stop mouthing off about it.... ..

it doesn;t matter how any of us chose to vote if our negative rhetoric causes 10 other people to vote the other way........ yes trump is sometimes brash and harsh...... but these are brash and harsh times....... and what we have going on now is not simply a political election... it;s a war for the cultural soul of this country... and in wartime people need to pick a side and stick with it... ... .. ..

if they can;t understand the importance of doing that when we are facing the possibility of a true marxist taking the white house.... ..at least until the election is over and the battle is won... . then maybe they are too stupid to continue living in a country where we govern ourselves.... and maybe they need to be ruled by an authoritarian dictator......... .... i don;t want to think of it that way... and don;t like saying it either...... but maybe it;s true.......

a lot of people... some who are not even christian and consider themselves atheist - lurk this forum from time to time.... . many of them are brought here by things they searched on google.... ...they see what we write whether we realize it or not..... and they form opinions both about us and also about the subjects we discuss........ .our posts are not viewed by members of this forum only and nobody else....... in the past i have had things i said and wrote here come back to me from people i barely know and who have nothing to do with these forums.... ... no matter where we are in this world we are never as isolated as we imagine.... ...

I question why the campaign staff did not review and have input on what the preliminary speakers said. Seems like a no brainer to me.

I’m not sure that it will hurt Trump but it just gives the media a club with which to beat Trump over the head with a few days. It was an unnecessary, unforced error and is almost inexcusable.

what that comedian said concerning puerto rico being a floating pile of garbage has a huge element of truth to it...... puerto rico really does have a major problem with trash and refuse collection/control.... trash and toxic waste has piled up everywhere... ....the u.s. news media has been reporting on it for years and the biden administration has done very little to fix it.......

That’s a worthwhile admonition. But if there be any merit to that notion for current onlookers, I would urge them to base their vote on matters of substantive policy issues and not on inconsequential matters of personality, or mean tweets as it were.
