tragedy involving illegal aerial fireworks in hawaii.....

a tragedy in oahu as a stockpile of illegal fireworks in a garage was accidentally detonated on new years eve....
it happened a little past midnight when most people shooting off their supply of illegal aerials had already shot
them all and stopped.. ... in the picture below you can see the rest of the city had already calmed down... but
moments before that picture was taken the whole sky was lit up with illegal professional grade aerials...

it was a deadly night all over oahu - people died in a few other places due to fireworks mishaps as well...
which makes me glad we stayed home this year.... had we gone with our usual new years eve plans we would
have been in alewa heights at a friends house - which is on a high ridge overlooking all of central oahu - including
the aliamanu area where this explosion happened...... we would have had a clear view of the whole incident -
but from a distance...... our friend who lives up there did see it....it;s still being investigated but it is believed
some of the devices that detonated were home made and much more powerful than conventional fireworks...

the fallout from the tragedy is effecting thousands of people here... .so far they have only released
the identity of 2 of the 3 fatalities.... but most people already know the names of everyone that was
there and who was injured in it.... . oahu is still pretty much a small island with close knit communities....

today six of the most serious burn victims are being flown by military aircraft to the mainland for treatment...

had it not been for the terror attack in new orleans and the suicide by car bomb in las vegas this accident would
have been a national headline in the news.... .but this new years eve was deadly all over the country.... and for
different reasons in each case....

one more person... a 3 year old boy... has died from injuried received in that news years eve explosion..... .
and then this past monday night another tragedy involving fire occured in honolulu.... a fully engulfed building
collapsed on a group of firefighters trying to fight the fire.... one firefighter died at the scene and 5 others
were seriously injured.......

meanwhile with all these tragic things happening in the state he was elected to govern... ...our democrat
governor josh green flew to washington to lobby against trumps nomination of kennedy for health secretary.....
