Tom Williams Is Still Preaching!

I've always liked him.  A man of extreme character. especially concerning the care of his first wife.  He gave me permission to distribute a series of his messages he did on the home which are tremendous.

We gave some money while at FBCH for the making of the film, Twice Given.  It was a good investment.

He's preaching for me in September! :)

I hope it goes well.  I've been told that in the last several years his "preaching" has gotten very inappropriate, especially when he "preaches" on marriage.  Men have had to walk out because he was too explicit.

So, I'll be curious how it goes for you.

I've not met the man; I have seen "Twice Given"

But the women stayed?  Interesting.

The male sessions in Pastors' School late '00s or early '10s got down right explicit. I saw several guys sitting with their teen sons. Wow, if they hadn't had the talk already............ :o :-X :o :-[  Overall though, he spoke truth. I have heard him preach in churches in the last few years, and nothing inappropriate.

About 30 years ago in hac chapel he said, " Anybody can live with anybody if they are willing to be a nobody". Never, never forgot this statement.

And this is the reason we can all live with RAIDER in the same forum.

*sigh*  I was using the word in its generic sense for "humans" to include both men & women.

Glad the he reigned in the inappropriate talk. I'm a little surprised that people who heard him preach so explicitly would trust him to speak in their pulpits.

I have never really understood this. I know people from fbch who would not go to the yearly marriage seminar because js was so explicit in his talk that they were embarrassed. What is the reason for it in a church setting. People have figured stuff out for thousands of years and most boys, by the time they are fifteen, don't need a road map.

He kind of creeps me out.

I liked Twice Given, but some things about him are just.......creepy....although I could not tell you why.  But isn't that they whole premise of being creeped out....not having a reason????

Could the fact that he married the woman he hired to care for his ill wife have something to do with it?

Does it for me.

It ain't illegal, it ain't sin...on the surface.

But the creep factor is there, causing me to keep an eye open.

Yes.

I was very unwise to live with your helpless wife and another healthy women.

It is the how it looks to the world that is the problem.

It was the appearance of evil.

That definitely added to my being creeped out by him, but I had the distinct creepy feeling even when I watched - and enjoyed - Twice Given movie, although I had an admiration for him for his care for her.

I might add that someone with a last name beginning with S also gave me a creepy feeling from the time I was 19 years old and heard him preach the first time during my freshman year of college.

But, then, some people here on the FFF do too, and I've never even laid eyes on  most of them.
