What is to be expected when Ichabod is written upon them.  Men will be comforted by the Holy Spirit or some intoxicating spirit one way or the other.

What is a HAC church?

Women wear band-aids and no open-toed shoes.

Men wear ties....always.

Married couples sit together in church....but 6 inches apart.

Sunday service concludes with a hair check and skirt length check as you leave the building

OH.........

Now we know.

I'm far-far away & running through the hills of freedom.

This thread made me remember Phooeydini for a fleeting moment.  Where is he these days?

The irony is the church plant in which I am involved, is planning on using ACTIVE breweries for services. After our 12-week inaugural launch, we have plans to rent out a local brewery on Sunday morning when they are closed and the long term "plans for growth" include filling the first brewery on a regular basis, then instead of buying property and looking to become a mega-style church, breaking a larger congregation into smaller congregations that meet in other rented local breweries.

I guess it works both ways!

Bah.  A church can have all of the rules it likes, but #1-If they go bankrupt, they are not the only ones with a say, and #2-They could always sell it to some group "X" that turns around and sells it to a brewery.

I can think of worse things - I've heard that the church that sent out William Carey is no longer a church, but a Buddist, Hindu, or Islamic place of worship.

This "this better not happen" statement.........

Does anyone doubt that God always gets the last word?

I have been to Church Brew Works. It is a microbrewery but also has a full restaurant. What makes the place is the beauty of the old Catholic Church. Most modern building (which would include most HAC churches) don't have the ornate beauty that comes with many of the old church buildings.

The food was good and I specifically remember rattlesnake being an appetizer on the menu.

YMBAH if.......... you remember that's what the Catholics said about selling the campus to the Baptists. Bro. Hyles loved ot point out the Baptists were the last ones the Catholics sold the campus to.
the post was a play on words rahter than a statement of conviction.
Bro. Hykes loved to point out that the
