good dog!... ....i suscribe to several decoy dog coyote hunting youtube channels.... i love watching the dogs go into action and seeing the coyotes get blasted.... .. ....the hog in the previous picture looks just about the right size to backpack out... ..we gut them completely... then tie the front legs to the back legs on each side and hook the front legs over our shoulders like a back pack.... ..it;s kinda gross and we have to wear a woolen ski cap to keep the fleas from getting on our heads... but it works...... the hogs head rests right on top of ours and it has scared a few tourist hikers when they saw us coming down a trail and first saw only the head bobbing along... they said it seemed like some giant hog beast was coming towards them walking upright on it;s back legs...
well.... we wouldn;t transport a hog this way either if we had a better option.... we hunt in a mountainous rainforest that has some of the densest tropical jungles on the planet... it;s hard enough to traverse the terrain without carrying anything at all... much less gear and a dead animal.... .. it involves a lot of climbing up and down steep rocky inclines and there are deep ravines hidden by thick undergrowth and foliage ...and some of them drop off into lava tubes .......
plus our goal on any hunt is to leave the area exactly as we found it... .we carry compact machetes with us but use them only sparingly... never to blaze a trail.... by the time we get down to where the hiking trails are we have already covered a few miles through dense vegetation.... on the last few hunts we made we were able to park our jeep relatively close to the camp and didn;t have to carry that far.... but it still made better sense to keep doing it the way we do rather than tie up both of us to carry a pig slung from a pole on our shoulders and no way to carry the gear.....
but then i guess i really didn;t have to write all that... i could have just said God decreed that i should carry a dead hog this way and left it at that......
