Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
-Matthew 5:13 (KJV)

Salt purifies. It gives flavor and is used as a preservative.

As Christians, shouldn't we hold social and moral issues to higher standards? Shouldn't we teach new Christians that women and men should be respected? That Christ is living water, the bread of life, the light that shows the way?

The church should be our refuge, not a place for predators.

“A time will come when instead of shepherds feeding the sheep, the church will have clowns entertaining the goats.”

I've heard the church often being called "the hospital for the sick and sinful." I guess that this means the predator isn't sick. Predators, adulterers, murderers have all been found in church. Let's not say that one of these can't be changed by Christ. That's just not what the Bible teaches...."And such were some of you..."

What do you mean by 'social?' And is there any higher standard than the law?

The church is no place for wolves, either. But they're there. And we were told they would be. We can bemoan that fact, or beware.
