The Devil’s Tramping Ground

Those types of places usually do tend to be a bunch of hype, but still fun to read about.
we have a few places in hawaii that are supposed to be haunted... . one of them is the pali pass between the town side of oahu and the windward side...... it;s the place where the army of king kamemehameha forced hundreds of oahu warriors off the cliffs where they fell to their death below..... it was the final battle in kamemehamehas campaign to unify the hawaiian islands under one ruler..... (himself)...... . .

the skeletal remains of those warriors are still there covered by over 2 hundred years of jungle growth and supposedly haunt both the jungle in the terrain below and also the road and highway above...... .. ..it is said that if you attempt to travel through the pali at night with pork and a few other types of traditional hawaiian foods in your car your car will stall out and you won;t be able to restart it until you toss the foof out onto the ground next to the road.........

i know it sounds silly but i know people who swear it happened to them..... and sometimes people get it into their head to test it and see if the legend is true... . none of them i know of say they came away successful with food still in their car... .. and a few people had terrifying expereriences on the pali at night they refuse to talk about..... ..... .

I once saw a documentary about haunted places in Hawaii. Can’t remember the name anymore, but it was stuff along the lines of what you described.
