Did anyone happen to check out the Great American Bible Challenge this past Thursday night on GSN? We recorded it and finally got around to watching it this morning.

I thought is was pretty good. The questions were thoughtful, despite the fact that some of the categories were a little goofy (i.e., "faithbook;" what if your favorite Biblical character had a facebook page). The questions in the "Final Revelation" round were pretty tough, but like I said; overall, I thought it was a good show. I will be tuning in again this Thursday.

My wife, on the other hand, didn't care for it at all. She thinks it's, and I quote, "blasphemous!" I'm not entirely sure she's serious about the blasphemous charge, but she said that the Bible shouldn't be treated as a trivia game.

Just wondering what your thoughts on the show might be, in the event you watched it.

:)

Only watched a few minutes and my impression was that they should have named it "Bible for Dummies".  It may have gotten harder later in the show, but it was too exasperating to watch them struggle with simple answers.  Just my opinion.

I didn't watch it (I don't have that channel).
But I am watching the making of the show on the gsn.com. There are things I would expect from a game show like this but what I didn't expect was Gospel singers :D.
One good thing about this show though is that they are playing for charity - on other shows only celebrities do that.

okay yeah, i was just kidding about the show being blasphemous, but the Bible shouldn't be treated like trivia. God's word is a serious matter. the way those three women were jumping around, carrying on and high-fiving, you'd think they were at a ball game or something. not dealing with the word.

I didn't see it. But it sounds like a good idea to me. If there are Bible trivia shows, the more popular they are, the more people will read their Bibles.
