What does this phrase, "that Old Time Religion" mean?
Depends on who you ask.
Where I grew up it meant Bible-pounding, preacher amening, sin hating, KJVing, queer bashing, soulwinning, no women pant wearing, short hairing, God-loving, Bible colleging, pastor authoritating, rule following, 6-inch gaping, no kissing, 123 repeat of meing, no discipleshiping, tithing, giving, live a lieing type of religion. With many other things that could be added but I will stop for now.
I still agree with some of these but I think that Old Time Religion really should mean loving God and seeking after Him like some of the great men of old that truly brought revival to our country and to Europe and if some of these things follow along because it is what God wants you to do then great and if not it aint nobody's business but yours and God's.

But if we want the version of Christianity that has changed the least since the beginning.... I think that would be Eastern Orthodoxy. Are any of us here EO? I don't think so.
