Have you filed your taxes?
My CPA e-filed our taxes last week....I hate being reminded of how much the federal and state government take from our livelihood. NC is one of the highest taxed states in the SE.
I usually have to pay big time but this year did 'better' because of some medical bills.
And the CPA charged $475!

Is that in line with what others here pay....those who do pay to have them filled and filed?

Yes, turned them in yesterday.

I pay about $100, but I have a peach of a cousin who works for H & R Block and does mine.

$185 for my CPA. Includes my business too, although sole proprietor.

Our CPA charges $700 and he earns it.  We also use a bookkeeper that helps us keep our sanity.  I take care of all my mom's finances which includes out-of-state commercial business.

We pay our accountant $100, she does a good job! My daughter did her taxes last week and will get a good chunk back to add to her car fund. She was mad that she did not get back all she put in! Welcome to the real world honey!! I will be doing my sons via Turbo Tax, he just worked for Chick Fil a but even if he got $25 back-a poor college student would be happy!

I do my own taxes..always have...saves paying a CPA.

I work for a local CPA firm.  If you give us a shoebox full of crap, you are going to pay a much higher bill than if you give us organized records.  We bill by the hour.  So, who do you want to pay to sort receipts?

Our CPA sends us a booklet of questions based on last years returns including a check list of changes in our situation and changes in the law.
I send him no receipts, just figures...so, the work is done on our end.

Taxes DONE!!!!

If I see ANY politician in the next 24 hours, I am going to punch him in the face.....

You would be a model client.  Most of our clients don't really use the tax planner like you do.  We have a number of high income business and individual clients that require lots of handholding.  And billable hours.  :)

I went to the UNC - Liberty baseball game last night with a few business men and, compared to them, I came out on the cheap end of the spectrum at only $475. :)
