Stufffundieslike: Crazy Courtship Questionnaire

That's just idiotic, and proves nothing.  Some folks just don't get it.

Send it to OBC. Vineyard will adopt it immediately.

And how many of the crazier IFBx pastors would just LOVE to get their hands on all that potentially incriminating data?

"123. How do you see your future relationship with your in-laws working out?"

Based upon this stupid questionnaire, not well at all.

;)

It probably would be much easier to count the ones that would not want to get their hands on it.

310. Can I see your last 4 months worth of bank statements?

Umm, no.

Who is really going to turn over 4 months of bank statements to a man just because they MIGHT - JUST MIGHT be allowed to court his daughter?

A SFL commentator made a great point: This survey is an attempt to avoid the long work of actually getting to know someone before committing to marriage.

IMHO it reveals a horrible lack of personal boundaries. We reveal things to people as we begin to trust them. This should be a time-consuming process of slowly growing intimacy...Not a 423 part questionnaire.

It seems like using a questionnaire like this would start the relationship with an attitude of mistrust. It is almost like "guilty until proven innocent."

I didn't even get to that part. To quote Jim Carrey in Batman Forever - There's too many questions.

Oh, and it just screams of over-involved parenting that is not likely to end after the marriage. Anyone who goes along with this is bound to have intrusive inlaws.

Wonder how the "prospective in-laws" would react if you told them "Look, man...I'm horny for your daughter, but not this horny".

No one should tolerate that questionnaire...but your post reminded me of this:

251. What type of relationship should your children have with non-Baptist classmates/friends?

254. If there are members of my family that are not Baptist, what type of relationship do you want to have with them?

It is not enough for them to be Christians, they have to be Baptists. Wow.

Goodness...I need a dose of aleshanee's brain bleach!!  Ahhg!
