Anyone going?  Anyone ever heard Mike Ray or Scott Pauley preach?

Youth conference Hammond July 15-17, 2014
http://hylesanderson.edu/yc/

Speakers:

John Wilkerson: Pastor, First Baptist Church

Mike Ray: Pastor, Hopewell Baptist Church

Scott Pauley: Vice President, Crown College

I just asking some questions.....

After the JS debacle at FBCH that was found out during their youth conference, why on earth would FBCH ever want to host a YC again?

Why not have the FBCH youth leaders speak?

Scott Pauley has spoken at our church a few times while down here for vacation. People like him

YC is a HAC recruiting tool to keep the bills paid at the college.

Last year's YC was very small.  Didn't even fill up the bottom floor.  They didn't even open up the balcony.  I'm surprised they'd do it again.  It's time they let the FBC kids go to other conferences and camps.  I sent my daughter to the last JS one.  What a sex education that was!  And that was the last one she attended.  She told me that she stepped out to go to the bathroom and one of the Hooker kids (they love their authority) told her to get back in.  She told her she had to go to the bathroom and was going in.  When she came out Jo Beth was standing there with her daughter giving my daughter the riot act saying she was going to call me and she was going to get in trouble from me.  My daughter was more scared in getting in trouble from me.  When I picked her up that night she was crying.  She told me what happened.  I asked my daughter "did you do anything wrong?" No she said I went to the bathroom.  Okay, so you didn't do anything wrong?  No.  Then you're not getting in trouble from me.  I told my husband what happened and he was furious at them and not her.  We made the decision for her not to go back the last day.  And we made the decision she's not returning to any FBC YC's.  It's terrible that young adults like the Hooker girls were back about 3 years ago thought they had the power to intimidate the kids.  Besides other issues, this is why we pulled her out of HB, she doesn't go to youth activities and she doesn't attend YC.  Oh, BTW, she's a great kid!  Gives me no problems.  Oh, one family I know both daughters attend HB, got pregnant, driving their parents insane, ditch SS and church and run a muck at home.  My daughter knows the boundries and limitations at home and school.  HMMM.

I'd like to say or think otherwise,... But I really can't. As long as there is a HAC there will be a YC.

Ahhh......  Memories.  Same thing happened to me one year.  Well, sortof.  We were goofing off in the mezanine during a service.  Some visiting youth leader gave us the riot act and threatened to tell our youth leader.  We responded - good luck getting to see him.  Eddie won't talk to us, let alone some unkown like you.  Guy got irate and threatened to find out who we were and tell our parents.  Go ahead!  Their name and number is....  Maybe they will finally tell us why we should listen to these guys repeat the same sermons every year and then listen to them contradict themselves when they are out of the pulpit and just with guys.

Poor old youth director didn't know what to do.  Stinkin' HB punks.  :P

Our youth really like Scott Pauley.  We don't know him, but we are friends with his parents as well as his sibling and family.

I took several classes from Scott Pauley and heard him preach many times while I attended Crown. I do believe he is a sincere and godly man. He preaches biblical messages, and he is not the hero of all his stories.

We missed hearing Scott Pauley when he was here. They need the youth conference because it's a big drawing card for the college.
