Smellin has been absent for quite some time.

You can blame it all on me...

Trump plans major cuts to social programs.

Smellin may be busy protesting the reforms that Trump has planned.

Smellin' is upset that we don't have enough representation of gays and trannys on the FFF.

For as much stuff as I disagreed with him about, he always showed class.  It always made me cringe when he would post a well thought out response (that I disagreed with) only for it to be followed by name calling and personal attacks by other posters.  He always wanted to engage with those he differed with.  Sure, he liked to antagonize us, but I always respected him.

He is our friend and has always been nothing but class. He probably won the lottery and is on a beach somewhere. In long pants and with tracts in his shirt pocket. ;)

We can be sure those tracts don't use the Roman Road!

He may be building a raft to take his family to Cuba or Venezuela.

When someone crosses the line from thinking outside of the box to apostasy and finally into heresy...denying the blood atonement of Christ he or she forfeits the right to be offered a 'well thought out response'. 2000 years of Biblical theology and orthodoxy are the well thought out response to heresy.

If we don't believe that someone deserves a well thought out response then doesn't it make sense to just not respond rather than call names or make personal attacks?

It is imperative to call out heresy, rebuke the heresy and call for repentance.  If they refuse then mark them as the heretic they are.  It is not name calling.  It is a biblical command.  Don't go along to get along no matter how much they show "class" or how witty they are.  If their doctrine is as corrupt as denial of the scripture except Jesus' words from the gospels and a complete denial of Pauline doctrine then it is as wicked as hell itself and it's promotion is death and hell on all who would give it an ear and follow.  I hate to use a "blood on your hands" type of description but for the pastors here do you not have a duty to at least call out such deceit.  Scripture says it is required of you.  2Ti 4:2  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

One more thing:  When people start modifying attributes or discounting attributes of the ones that we have been given in scripture (all of it) of Jesus and/or God the god or jesus that they are teaching ceases to be Jehovah God or our Jesus.  It becomes a jesus and god of their own making.  It is becoming dangerously clear that some of the CCM music that is coming from heretical churches such as Hillsong are doing this if you have ever heard their "gospel" at one of their concerts.  Their praises say the name jesus but their declarations do not match the scriptural accounts.  THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT PAUL WAS WARNING US ABOUT!  2Co 11:4  For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

Another jesus wasn't necessarily someone coming and preaching another person as messiah but allowing a redefinition of Who our Jesus is.

What Smellin professes to believe is the theological equivalent to a Looney Tunes cartoon and I now respond accordingly. As he was evolving into his heretical beliefs, I interacted with him differently...I believed and still believe he is sincere and is a man of outstanding moral character...a good guy l'm sure...but his beliefs are heretical.

And, beside all that, if nobody posted anything but sincere, well thought out responses, the fff would have died a loooong time ago!  ;)

The things he argued here on the FFF are very typical of unsaved people I know. He has not said anything here that is any different from what many in the world believe.

What makes many of the things he said shocking is that he professes to be a born again Christian and yet he still hold to these ungodly views on so many issues.

I am not saying everything has to be a sincere thought out response but there is a difference is pointing out heretical beliefs and making personal attacks.

There certainly is...and some can't tell the difference.
To some, there is no difference.
To some, there is no heretical beliefs, just a different opinion.
