It seems to me that Jesus, Peter, Paul, and the other men of God in the Bible dressed rather modestly and not in the elaborate clothes of the pharisees. Should a pastor dress up in such to please his Pharisaical members?

Obviously the Bible isn't specific as to what one should wear in church. I am not a Pharisee in that I don't pretend to be anything at all in the church. HowEVER if I were to go to church, I definitely would dress the best I could (and for me that would include a tie and suit). I don't understand why people want to dress down when going into the House of God. But to each his own.
Would one wear his shirt tail out and a pair of faded blue jeans to a business meeting?
Isn't God just as important?
I went to Perimeter Church last year and a woman had on a haltar top. I also went to Andy Stanley's church and people were in flip flops. I don't mean to infer they were sinners or bad in some way, but I just feel that when going to the house of the Great Creator, one would want to look nice.
But that's just me.

You're right.

Although... the flip-flops I wear to church are not cheap ones. They're brand name, and may cost $50 or more. That's not vanity: since they're my standard all-purpose Summer shoes, they have to have arch support, be well-made and comfortable, etc. Cheap generic flip-flops don't match that description.
50 bucks for flip flops? Whew, boy do I love my wife even more now. I'd hate to ask what you pay for real shoes.

Should a pastor dress down to please his Pharisaical members who think dressing down makes them more spiritual then those who dress up?

Nope. A pastor should dress in such a way that people focus on worship and not on how he (or she) is dressed. Ditto for the rest of the congregation. They should be praising God, not comparing clothes.

Really the actual point the OP was making is that we who wear suit and ties are pharisees and those who wear cut-offs and a tee-shirt are spiritual. But that's just me

Actually, that is a lie. The original post was a parody of TGL's stupid Pharisaical post condemning those who don't wear suits and ties in order to please their members. Don't worry. I forgive you.
