Sweet 14-year-old girl is having brain surgery in the morning (3/24) to remove a tumor.  Expected time in surgery is 6 hours.

We are good friends with the family, she attends our Christian school, her dad is a pastor and full-time coal miner, and she loves the Lord.  Our high school students have signed up to pray during segments of time during the surgery and many moms are gathering at school in the morning to pray for her.

She just finished a great basketball season while having head aches and mild seizures- without a complaint.  Just diagnosed last week.  The parents were stunned with the news, but are committed to trusting the Lord.

Please pray for her and the family.

Praying for all involved.........

Just noticed that it is today...will be praying through out the day for her.

The tumor has been removed and she is in PICU.  We are thanking the Lord she has awakened which is a good sign.

Thank you all for praying.

Sorry just saw this. Praying right now.

The Lord's grace and mercy amaze me.  I understand that the Lord always answers prayers (no is also an answer) and I try to be thankful in all things.

How the Lord worked in this girl's life caused the doctor's to say, "I've never seen this happen."  I love that.  The plan was to remove the tumor Monday morning, keep her sedated until Wed and allow her to wake up and start the long process of healing and rehab.  These surgeries cause a lot of swelling around the incision as well as the eyes.  It is stressful for a teen to have her eyes swollen shut for a period of time, as well as dealing with the shaved area on the head.

She woke up Monday evening and was so alert that they allowed her to be lightly sedated until Tuesday morning.  The MRI showed the entire tumor was removed.  No swelling.  None.  And they did not shave her head- just parted it to make the 4" incision.  The doctor released her 48 hours after the surgery to make a 5-hour drive home.  He said she was in great shape to travel.  God is amazing.  And the girl and her family are praising Him.

Praise the Lord.

Just saw the posting.  Prayers for recovery.
