At least he's pleading guilty. What good would a trial do anyways?

He'd be fried by a Grand Jury. He's the most arrogant SOB on the planet.

Instead of a trial with mandatory 10 year imprisonment, he's accepted a plea agreement which means being indicted on lesser charge(s)

Less messy and the taxpayers won't pay as much

The law portion cut & pasted from my Legal Ramifications thread a few wks back.

(f) The accused commits aggravated criminal sexual abuse if he or she commits an act of sexual conduct with a victim who was at least 13 years of age but under 18 years of age when the act was committed and the accused was 17 years of age or over and held a position of trust, authority or supervision in relation to the victim.

"In his plea agreement, which also was filed in federal court today, Schaap admits that he had sex with the girl, the girl was under his care or supervision, and he used a computer to persuade the girl to have sex with him illegally"

Law Requirements & Schapps Admission

Count 1 Had sex with the girl- says Schapp Law reads  "Sexual Conduct"
Count 2 Girl was under his supervision Says Schapp- Law reads "Held a position of trust, authority or supervision"

Counts 1 & 2 are Class 2 Felonies. Appears he's admitted to these.
Count 3 is a BIGGIE. It appears he admitted to it too

Count 3. "Used a computer to persuade the girl to have sex with him illegally"
Law reads "pursuades minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing visual depiction of such conduct"

-AND- she was transported across State Lines so Schapp has that Count covered Threefold!

So what is Grounded Grid going to do for jollies with Schaap shipped away?

For me, it isn't funny as Schaap was one of the few who treated me decently while I was at HAC but, obviously, the peak of the pride he sometimes demonstrated was capping a far more sinister creature beneath the crest of the shallow HAC waters.

Perhaps this is a stretch....

Psalms 2:4  He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision...

Schaap did refer to himself as a kingmaker that became a king. If he meets the criteria for "heathen" then the scripture fits.

It's not a joke, it's Schadenfreude. Get over it.

So you take pleasure in his misfortune.  That is understandable. But I won't laugh like that.

Schaap was placed in a position for which he was unqualified and un prepared. He was a fraud from the beginning, I suspect....his sin found him out....and now he, his victim, his church and his family must pay the price. It's sad...but I'm glad he is no longer defaming the name of Christ as a so called Pastor!

His whole ministry was a farce.  I heard him preach a few times and he said absolutely nothing of any eternal value. The only thing that was worthy was the public reading of scripture.
