SBC Website Consider Hostile To Administrations Agenda

I saw an episode of Wretched TV (an conservative evangelical commentary on today's culture and Christian worldview issues) where the host talked about how the Army has a bulletin warning their recruits about extremist groups.  On that list was "Jews" and "Evangelical Christians", along with Muslim Jihadists and terrorist groups.  ::)

Yes, it seems to be heading at us like a locomotive, the warnings are no longer future tense.

The Pentagon has blocked the website of the SBC because it has labeled it hostile, in reference to the SBC stand for life of the unborn and against homosexual marriage...wake up people the times they are a changing.

A tiny aside:  I went to high school and graduated with Todd  Starnes.  He was a very quiet nerd back then. :-)  We were in most classes together and on a few club committees together.  Who knew he would go on to such greatness?!

Saw that coming as soon as I read the title of this thread. My first reaction was "Yeah, pull the other one". People believe the craziest things.

Two things about this:
We Christians are often quick to jump the gun and claim oppression where none exists.....which makes us look looney in the eyes of some.
The attitude of the world system toward us gives us legitimate reason to lean toward 'paranoia'.

Glad that is corrected...but doesn't change the instruction that evangelical are a radical religious group.  Also wondering why malware would not have been easily the quick explanation rather than taking so long?  It is interesting times.

They should really get better malware protection especially considering these are Army bases.

The briefing you are referring to was a very isolated incident at a US Army Reserve unit in Pennsylvania and was not Army-wide.  It was not an official Army training brief, is not official Army policy, and was not condoned.

Having been part of the "Army machine",  that doesn't surprise me.  Explanations aren't quickly forthcoming most of the time.  The incident looks to have been reported on the 24th, and the explanation came on the 26th.  That's actually "light speed" in the DoD.... :)

The malware wasn't on the Army equipment.  The software the Army uses on an enterprise level to filter malware on internet sites DETECTED malware on the SBC site and denied access to it.  Whether or not there was actual malware on the SBC site doesn't appear to have been reported.  In addition, there are sometimes "false positives" that the software detects.  Could have been one of those cases.

I agree with this sentiment.

If this had happened before gays were openly allowed to serve in the military, it probably wouldn't have even been reported.  I worked in a Theater Level Army network operations center for a few years after I retired from the Army and I can tell you, stuff like this happened quite a bit.  Sites that shouldn't have been blocked were blocked and sometimes it took a few days before the analysts could figure out exactly why.

If it had been purposely filtered, it would have been more than just the SBC site that was blocked.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're really not out to get you.
