SC was faced with a dilemma...
-vote for someone who was unfaithful to his wife and who made a grave mistake in his former political duties.
-vote for someone who is a liberal that fights for abortion, gay marriage, gun background checks
-or not vote at all
Sanford won. Not because everyone was happily dismissive of his past. The stakes were too high. The choice was to either vote for him or vote for Colbert-Brown.
We are told that the GOP lost in 2012 because millions of evangelicals stayed home.
This example shows that voting for the best of two undesired choices is where we are at in this country. Evil must be rejected even if it involves a choice that is not perfect.
If Sanford can beat a heavily monetized lib, hopefully we can see more GOP wins in 2014.
