I'm still reading the first book - I'm on chapter 12 - pretty nasty.

Just an aside - that pic is from the original 2009 Swedish version - different actress.

Sorry about that. I edited my first post to show the original movie.  I have not seen the Americanised version.  Has anyone else? Is it good or bad?

I haven't seen it but it is good enough to have received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress - Motion Picture Drama. It's still pending but it may even get an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
 
It must be "good" then, at least in the eyes of the people who vote for those things.

Well, since I'm not Lisbeth, and since I have no tattoos, I really have no idea if her tattoo hurt or not.
