Regarding Ukraine The US

They should pressure both sides to come to a peace deal. Ukraine will have to settle for at least the pre war boundaries and Russia will have yo agree to safeguards for Ukraine to have security guarantees in the future. Probably not NATO but maybe EU membership. But sooner not later.

encourage zelenski to wear a suit and tie ...and at least look like he took a bath when he visits the white house ..and meets with the president of the united states.... .... .. it;s kinda hard to convince people the other guy is a thug when you are the person dressed like one....... ..... just sayin' ... . ...

I would think that this would be a reasonable request....but, then again, we're not living in the last century either. Ift we're not upset about our spiritual leaders running around in skinny jeans and t0shirts during the morning service, I don't think we should be making a fuss about what someone wears. Just sayin'. ;)

he showed up today dressed in a black long sleeve pull over and black pants.... a little better than the dirty camo fatigues and olive drab combat thermal shirt he usually shows up at high level meetings in........... trump even made a joke and told zelenski he "dressed up" today..... ....

some of the commentators on tv said they thought it was appropriate for zelenski to don the "fresh out of combat" look since his country is fighting an active war..... but none of them acknowledged the fact that they are not the people zelenksi needs to impress right now..... the person he needs to impress to get what he wants is donald trump..... and trump is not a member of the skinny jean and t-shirt generation....

my dad says zelenski always being in combat clothing reminds him of fidel castro who came to meet with presidents and world leaders dressed the same way..... not a very good impression..
 
Zelenskyy's outfit is a costume. Politicians visiting foreign countries wear suits because they want to make a good impression not only of themselves but their countries, making them look as wealthy and prosperous as possible.

Ukraine, by contrast, is at war. Zelenskyy dresses in casual clothing or fatigues to identify with his soldiers. (It's not that different from dictators like Fidel Castro who go around in military uniforms, except Zelenskyy himself was not in the military.) He's in the US to ask for funding. Looking wealthy would be the wrong image.

Zelenskyy's image is as closely managed as Donald Trump's with his padded suits, too-long ties (of which he seems to have about three) and fake tan. Trump isn't just a sloppy dresser; he's intentionally trying to present himself as an everyman, albeit one more fit and rugged than he actually is. Zelenskyy is doing the same, in his own context.

i understand what you are saying..... and i agree zelenskis manner of dress is nothing but costume.... in a way trumps choice of suits and clothing is too...... but wearing a suit and tie in a high level meeting is not just about showing off wealth... it;s about showing respect........ .

and who has the power here?.... who deserves that respect most?......... like trump told zelenski just moments ago he doesn;t hold the cards........ ..we hold the cards.....

trump has told zelenski several times he finds him disrespectful.... .and if zelenski wants trumps help he will need trumps respect...... ..he could make a good start towards earning that respect by dressing in a way trump finds appropriate for a high level meeting...... if i was ukrainian i would be a little nervous about having a leader like zelenski who didn;t understand the importance of that.....
 
Zelenski just got the boot from the WH. His group wanted to stay but Trump said come back when you want peace, ceasefire.
 
Stand with President Trump and his efforts to end the war.

As for the US citizens, DO YOUR RESEARCH and recognize the fact that the Ukraine is not entirely innocent and Russia did have provocation for their actions.

As President Trump has stated numerous times (pretty much any time the issue comes up) "This is a stupid war which would've never happened had I been president during this time!"

Funny that the Demon-crats are now the "Hawks" that want to get us in another war!🤬

I think that preechers look like a bunch of clowns running around in skinny jeans and t-shirts while they preaching to their congregation! They look like a bunch of kindergartners whose parents let them dress themselves! How can you take people like this seriously?

Not saying that preachers ought to wear a suit and tie but they should dress in a manner that is respectful to their vocation! I rarely wear a tie but I do dress in a relatively "business casual" manner wearing a collared, buttoned shirt that is tucked in and jeans without stains or holes! I believe this to be reasonable.
 
Zelensky wore his military uniform to a WH meeting that could have led to a ceasefire possibility and maybe peace. Do you remember another world leader that would always wear a military uniform? Castro from Cuba, the uniform of a dictator always.
 
If the goal of one’s public meeting is to promote a ceasefire on behalf of your country, maybe wearing a non-military uniform is a good first step in public appearances. Seems like common sense to me…then again, maybe Trump is correct about the fact that Zelensky had zero interest in a ceasefire and is just playing games.
 
Republicans are just as guilty. They are all for war but Trump comes along and they are following suit. Which is great but the point is none of them were against continuing to fund this war until, Trump.
 
If I were going to a job interview, I would dress appropriately depending upon what kind of job I was going for. If I were talking to the most powerful man in the world, especially if I wanted something, I think I would dress a little more appropriately. Every suit doesn't have to be $$$$.
