So on the dying forum it was posted that the pastor of First Baptist Church in Long Beach, CA will be the one "called" as the new pastor in Hammond. IF the rumor is true, would they really make that mistake? This is the same church that Larry Chappel was a pastor of before he was sent away for messing around with women only to be succeeded by Mark Chappel (Paul Chappel's dad and brother respectively) who met the same fate for the same reason. The current pastor followed Mark Chappel in 2000. It's not his fault but no doubt that will all come back up in the mix. Not smart PR imo.

I watched a little of one of his video sermons on that church's site and from what I see he isn't like Schaap at least in his demeanor - thank goodness. It's also good that they chose someone who isn't a novice - that's the worst thing a church can do.

I say this, fully depressed about my 60th birthday -- who the **** cares?

John Wilkerson was a very good choice for First, Long Beach. He has been a healer and has led the church away from the terrible apostasy of its last two pastors. I doubt he would be willing to leave Long Beach for Hammond. He spent the past 12 years putting a broken church back together, I doubt he would want to do it all over again.

Lots of experience with coverups and pervs, extremely legalistic, seems like a perfect fit.  He will have it down to where he can handle it in a few months.

I heard this week that he turned down the invite.(wilkerson)

DRHA is saying that he accepted. I wonder when Amen Brother will start up the stalking of Trisha again...
