What is the difference in meaning between פדן (Paddan) and ארם פדן (Paddanaram)?
ESV Gen 48:7 As for me, when I came from Paddan, to my sorrow Rachel died in the land of Canaan on the way, when there was still some distance to go to Ephrath, and I buried her there on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem).
NASB Gen 48:7 "Now as for me, when I came from Paddan, Rachel died, to my sorrow, in the land of Canaan on the journey, when there was still some distance to go to Ephrath; and I buried her there on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem)."
NIV Gen 48:7 As I was returning from Paddan, to my sorrow Rachel died in the land of Canaan while we were still on the way, a little distance from Ephrath. So I buried her there beside the road to Ephrath" (that is, Bethlehem).

NIV Gen 25:20 and Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebekah daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Paddan Aram and sister of Laban the Aramean.
It seems to me that the Hebrew word(s) are the same in all of the following verses: Gen 25:20, 28:2, 28:5-7, 31:18, 33:18, 35:9, 35,26, 46:15, 48:7.

It seems to me that the Hebrew word(s) are the same in all of the following verses: Gen 25:20, 28:2, 28:5-7, 31:18, 33:18, 35:9, 35,26, 46:15, 48:7.
- Is it a different spelling for the same place?
- Is it different words for the same place?
- Are they different places, if so why the same Hebrew word(s)?
- If they are the same, then why not translate them the same? Or, is this proof that the same word(s)/place can be translated correctly using DIFFERENT word(s)/spellings?
