Prayers for mom please

Thanks very much for the prayers. After much testing Mom is diagnosed with a-fib due to a leaky heart valve, which they aren’t going to treat by surgical means at this point (blood thinners instead). The Catheterizatio she had today confirmed a blockage that requires a stent, which will be inserted tomorrow morning (not sure why they didn’t do that today during the cath) so continue to pray for her please.

Her lungs must be doing better if they're doing all that cardio stuff...

Continuing prayers for wisdom from the medical staff and peace for you all.

Yes, despite the legitimate ongoing concerns for the cardio issues the good news is that her pneumonia is under control. She is generally strong for an 83 year old but pneumonia is a worthy adversary for any elderly person. She had battled a respiratory infection and complications for over a month before the pneumonia took effect, so we are relieved she fought that stuff off.

Mom was released from the hospital yesterday evening and is over the pneumonia for the most part. Her heart condition is still considered to be in a-fib, they will revisit that after a month of treatment by way of medication’s. She also will be visiting OSU to take a look at the leaky heart valve to see if anything needs to be done, but that is not set up yet. Thanks again for all your prayers.

We will continue in prayer here. Thanks for the update.

Mom had her attempted cardiovert to get her out of a-fib today. It didn’t work. They are considering putting a pacemaker in and she is being kept for observation in the hospital for now. Prayers please.😊

We expected a normal cardioversion then a release from the hospital yesterday but they are keeping her in the hospital for observation til further notice, so the slight setback was a little uncomfortable. By the time I got to see her after work yesterday the cardiologist(s) were gone and the nursing staff didn't have an absolutely clear idea of what the timetable and course of treatment will be. Mom seems to be taking it fairly well though, so that's good since she feels like a guinea pig lately with all the poking and prodding in the last several months. Hopefully the cardiology team will be in today and give a clearer picture of the path forward. I appreciate all the prayers.
