Pray for Karie Owens, Missionary to Africa

Please pray for Karie Owens. Karie is the wife of missionary Nathan Owens. They are missionaries to Cameroon, Africa. Bro. Owens called me this morning to tell me that Karie had an acute cardiac arrest on the evening of May 23. She is currently in ICU. They are currently trying to stabilize her, and hope to fly her to Paris, France to get better treatment. They originally thought she had malaria, but that has been ruled out. Nathan told me that she started having chest pains and then went into the cardiac arrest while in the hospital. Please pray for the doctors to have special wisdom on what to do. Pray that Karie's heart will be stabilized. I will keep you updated to this request as I get more information. Thank you for your prayers.

How old is she? My friend Debbie Lundy nurse in ICU for many years taught me alot about heart patients..She also taught the class on how to live after a heart attack. Please know we are praying and please give us an update when you can.

as far as I know, she was life flighted to Paris France for further medical treatment. That is where she is at right now.

Dear Prayer Friends,

Karie was medevaced to Paris on Sunday morning May, 26th, after being in a hospital in Cameroon for four days.  She is now in CCU in Paris.  Although Karie is in stable condition, she has a long way to go before any kind of recovery. Testing is being completed to establish interventions and sort through  her medical problems. Karie's  mother is in Paris with her , staying in her room giving support and care as needed.

I want to thank everyone for your prayers and ask you to continue in prayer for Karie. THANK YOU!

I'm still in Cameroon with our children; please pray for protection and wisdom during this time.

VITAL UPDATE ON KARIE OWENS’ HEALTH
June 3, 9 AM

This morning Bro. Nathan Owens called and gave me an update on his wife, Karie’s condition. She is now back in the United States. Upon arrival, they immediately admitted her to an ICU unit because of her condition. Today they are running tests on her heart to find out the cause of the heart problems. There are other health issues of which the doctors have informed them, and they will continue to run tests throughout the day to determine the best course of action to deal with Karie’s health. Please continue to pray for Karie as her health is still very unstable. Please don’t assume other health risks from other sources, as Bro. Nathan Owens has chosen to give updates ONLY through the Old Paths Journal until he gets back to the United States. Once the doctors give Bro. Nathan and Karie a complete diagnosis, then we will be able to give you a clearer picture as to her health.
