Praise the Lord for Some Rain

We've been dealing with the Gwen Fire here for the past few days...

Mrs. abcaines and her sister were at a family reunion when it sparked up and had to head back home by driving an hour out of their way. It's been smoky, friends of ours have been evacuated, a friend of a friend has lost their home... our CMA chapter made a sizable donation for relief efforts..

Today, we got a treat... a cold front just blew through. Much of the rain from this system has been falling right where it's needed most.

I'm very thankful and praising God for answered prayer.

Got up this morning and the rain was still falling. Again, local radar shows the brunt of this system sending showers where they are needed most.

We were in a longstanding drought here in Middle Tennessee. We finally got some measurable rain, the most we've seen in nearly two months. Today we're expecting some severe thunderstorms again. We've had some small grass fires here, and we're hoping that none will start again in the Smokey Mountain area or down in Gatlinburg and Chattanooga. It's hotter than a pistol here today....97 and feels like 110. I'll be glad if this weather pattern moves out after tomorrow. We're under an excessive heat warning until Wednesday morning.
