The dynamic which makes FFF enjoyable is that it offers a free-to-discuss atmosphere. To preserve that, we take a very light moderation approach with enduring patience. See the Forum Rules for a quick overview. This thread is not intended to replace the rules, rather give a fuller concept of what and why things are done here.
We currently have two people moderating: Myself (FSSL,admin) and Ransom
As we have learned from the original forum, NO moderation leads to a spammed-out forum with violations that could even bring on law suits. For newbies and existing members who want absolutely ZERO interference, this sticky attempts to clarify when moderation is necessary.
We will interfere with moderation (either by locking down at thread to prevent further flaming/spamming or editing post/s) when there is...
Soliciting & Divulging of Private Information
Members are allowed to freely post their personal information at their own risk. However, because this is the internet, we highly respect and protect those who wish to remain anonymous. It is the law. We will not tolerate ANY wiggle room on this subject. No one will be allowed to bully information from anyone else into revealing their own or someone else's information. Any post which includes age, location, image, or anything else that can compromise anonymity will be edited or removed.
Spamming
You are not allowed to copy and paste copyrighted materials of others to dominate the threads (ala I AM AM Angel on the original forum). We will not tolerate the posting of any material intended to obfuscate the discussion.
An Actionable Threat
This is where anonymity provides the ultimate protection and yet gives some reason to believe they can post anything. If you make hostile threats that include violence against another's person or property, we will consider the context in which that threat is made. Whenever you receive a "threat," report it to the moderators. Do not attempt to flame or spam the forum looking for sympathy from other posters. If you feel that the threat is actionable, reporting it to us and going directly to the authorities is the proper way to handle these issues.
I cannot think of any other situations, not covered above or in the forum rules.
Please feel free to discuss below!
