This is mind-blowing and infuriating.

Andy Stanley here is telling about a couple in his church who were divorced after wife discovered hubby had a gay lover.  They divorced, and a bit later the unrepentant sodomite ex-husband comes back to church with his sodomite partner (who also happened to be married).

Wife protests so the two homos go over to another Andy Stanley campus and the first morning there, get high-pressured into signing up for a "team" (guess that sort of sensationalism and manipulation is fine as long as its the free-bird kind).  A little later Pastor Stanley finds out, and is all fine and groovy with it all until he realizes that Mr. Sodomite #2 is still married.  So he confronts-- he tells Sodomite #1 that he and his partener are not allowed to serve on the "team" because they are in a sexual relationship topgether and since Sodomite #2 is still married, that constitutes living in adultery. and they cannot serve if they are living in adultery.

Kudos to "pastor" Stanley for standing against adultery.  Too bad its a farce.  As, apparently, is he.

Stanley has thus far not given any further explanation or clarification.
This seems to be yet another sad example of relevance and tolerance running rampant in the contemporary church movement.

They seem to want acceptance in the mainstream to the point of Biblical compromise.

I was not able to listen to Andy's message, but could read Al's response and description of what Andy said...it is true what Al said about Andy being a "master communicator"....and as a Southern Baptist I say Andy needs to clarify quickly...if his view of homosexual relationships are as he seems to indicated in the quoted material in Al's article, then he is codifying sin and should be ashamed...this is a serious step into apostasy!

...there is so much wrong with this picture it is hard to know even where to start. Appalling.

Sadly, this attitude toward the sin of sodomy is prelevant in our current battle in NC over the Marriage Amendment. Churches and pastors either ignore the issue or actually defend gay marriage.

This is not just a mega-church problem. It's happening in micro churches which is a new trend. Micro churches are churches which are small but not readily seen - example would be a house church.

Is the Charles Stanley's son? If so TTU banned his material when I was there.

I saw this.  He also implied that they could be on the welcome team as homosexuals.  He only stepped in when he found out that one of the men was married.

Having practicing homosexuals in your church services is a far cry from having them represent your church to visitors.
