But he didn't say we can't know the year or minute or second.

So I predict 2017 at 27 minutes and 43 seconds after the hour. 
 
30+ years ago I was a newly minted pre-trib pre-mil true believer. Since then my eschatology has evolved. What I know for sure is this, Jesus is coming back and it will be a surprise when it happens.
 
May I share a pet-peeve relative to Jesus coming back? I've heard many preachers make the statement, "If Jesus tarries His coming..." Usually talking about what this world will be like in 20 years or so. My pet-peeve is that Jesus will in no way tarry His coming.

Castor Muscular alluded to the verse (But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Mark 13:32) that clearly tells us that not even Jesus knows when His Father is going to give Him the signal to come back. When that signal is given, there will be no tarrying on Jesus' part.

"For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Hebrews 10:37

Btw, I have never corrected a preacher for using this phrase. I certainly understand what they mean, but always wonder how they missed Hebrews 10:37.
