Hey guys, new member here, and I've got a question. I've been cycling through martial arts now trying to find the right one. I've been doing Ju Jitsu for a little while, planning on trying Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai, etc. because I want to find the right one. Recently, I've found a big problem when choosing to decide it. The places I go to, I train, and train, and train but it's never enough for me. I also feel like the classes are too easy. For example, I'm only a white belt in Ju Jitsu so it's probably not meant to be too hard, but it's seriously easy, sure there's the occasional headache, but I feel like it's not hard enough to learn fast enough. This post is all over the place, but what I'm trying to say is that I feel like no amount of training is enough, I feel like I want more advanced classes but I can't find that. What mindset should I get into so I can understand that I should go through the white belt - black belt process?

Thanks.

Patience, Grasshopper. You must first understand the why before you understand the how. I've been at it for over 40 years. If you go from white to black belt in less that four years in any style you're being cheated. All a black belt means is that you've mastered the basics. That is when your education really begins. It is only when the black belt becomes white from sweat and wear that you have mastered your art and come full circle.

If you want to learn and master an art stick woth one of the Asian styles. I'm partial to Wado Ryu. If you only want to learn to kill study Krav Maga.

Chuck Bob is right. Your body and mind needs constant and repetitive training until one can react with efficient motion faster than the speed of thinking about it. This is why so many start and so few finish. They want to be Bruce Lee after a few lessons instead are sitting in a stance practicing punches and blocks and getting bored.
