3Jn 1:4  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

God is so good, amen!

Congrats, brother!

I certainly hope he is being baptized by someone who was baptized by someone who was baptized.....by John the Baptist! :D

I rejoice with you!

lol, you're nuts.

I got the awesome privilege of baptizing him.

Praise the Lord and bless your son in his walk of discipleship!

Thanks bro.  I truly hope and pray that he will follow the Lord and avoid some of the heartache/mistakes that I made as an unsaved youth.  I'm so glad it was HIS decision to be baptized.  He made a profession of faith at VBS in summer 2010 as a 5 year old.  I wrestled with whether to rush him to baptism because of his age and the possibility that he was just "getting saved" to please mama and papa.  Don't get me wrong, I encouraged him gently to be baptized fairly often, and he acquiesced to my promptings at the time(s) that I brought up the subject, but there didn't seem to be any real desire of his own to follow the Lord, so I never pressed the matter.  But when he recently heard a sermon that spoke of Christ's fulfilling all righteousness by being baptized of John, he asked if he might also be obedient.  GLORY!  That was a shoutin' time!

Good indeed, is so good!

Amen. Obedience that works from the inside out is far more desirable than obedience that works from the outside in.

I remember hearing Adrian Rogers say that "Jesus never makes us do anything", with the point being that our motivation to serve Him is out of love and reverence, not coercive fear.  Yes, I crave the Lord's hand on my son's life, and that he has his own walk with the Lord out of love, not merely to be a conforming "good son".
