My jokes are too offensive

To us, it was funny, but to the one involved, there was a difference of perspective we never thought of. Best to show grace, abandon the joke, and move on.

I had to Google who the person was you posted. Once I did that, I understood what you were joking about. You’ve got to remember there’s a generational gap between some of us here. 😎

I don’t tend to offend people with jokes, but I do occasionally get in trouble for being too truthful in the heat of the moment. “Sleep on it” has been a lifelong lesson that I’ve mightily struggled with, but I have made some progress as I’ve gotten older.

I can't please everyone, so I strive to offend everyone equally.

I'll out offend you any day of the week! Stick around!!!
Got that right! Our generation is always trying to do the "one-upmanship" on offensive jokes....I hope Bob sticks around. He's an alright kinda dude! :)

I've jokes a few times on here, and unfortunately, this latest one seemed to offend someone, so I will bow out.
I would urge us all to get along and to respect each others feelings. There no reason to intentionally be offensive and we should make every attempt to not do it unintentionally as well.

Sometimes, like a family we let our strong opinions and perspectives cloud our judgement.

I think there is a place here for differing opinions while considering and respecting the positions & opinions of others.

I remember a famous pastor who would often say be kind to everyone because everyone is having a hard time. Just this week I heard someone say on a pod cast, your not likely to be the smartest person in a crowd, the best looking in a crowd, the most entertaining in a crowd or even the wealthiest person in a crowd, but you always have the opportunity to be the nicest and kindest person in any crowd if you choose to be. There will always be someone who needs encouragement, someone who just needs a complement, someone who just needs some compassion or someone to care or just someone to listen. There will always be people in every crowd who just need a friend. The world is connected like never before, yet so many people feel so alone.

Feh. You made a joke that offended one person. That's between you and her; the rest of us aren't qualified to judge what someone should or shouldn't take offense at. So apologize and get on with your life. I admit it's not as dramatic as playing the martyr, but it's more adult.
