Mixed drinks or wine at a wedding

Would you object to mixed drinks, but not wine at a wedding reception?

Just an FYI:

The typical mixed drink (cocktail) contains about 12%-15% alcohol.

The typical glass of wine contains about 12%-15% alcohol.

Naturally, there are stronger mixed drinks and stronger wines (some wines have as much as 20% ABV).

---------------------

An unrelated FYI:  In Texas, if you have 0.08% blood alcohol level or higher, you are DUI (driving under the influence).  Your blood alcohol level varies by weight, time, and how much you drink.  I'm a fatty, so 3 beers in one hour would only bring up my blood alcohol level to 0.018%, way below the DUI threshold.  In case you're wondering, no, I'm not likely to drink 3 beers in one hour, anyway, and in the very unlikely case that I did, I wouldn't drive.  Even if I felt perfectly sober, I'm sure I'd have to pee 5 minutes after getting in the car.

I would not serve mixed drinks at my wedding. I would not want to start my new life drinking... not a good start. I don't see any good to this

That wasn't the question.  The question was, would you allow wine, but not mixed drinks?  Sounds like you'd allow neither, right?

After being married to me for 24+ years, I'm sure my wife wish she had! :D

It's what his tattoo looks like. He was told it meant "So Hot It Hurts" but it really means "Easy Tramp".

Actually, I was going for "Easy Tramp" but what I got was "Hot and Sour Soup".

We didn't serve at my wife's and I wedding, we wanted to but we changed out minds because there was going to be a large gathering of ifbx'ers on hand and we didn't want to start something.

Since we don't drink, there will be no alcohol at my children's wedding.

If I were planning a wedding, including (hypothetically) my own, I would make sure there was plenty of champagne, and good quality champagne at that. I wouldn't particularly care about what other drinks were served, although I would not want people to be over-served. I want people to be relaxed and happy, not falling down drunk.

There's a funny commercial with Don Ho, where he starts singing "Tiny Bubbles.. in the wine..."

Then someone yells out, "The Champagne's not Korbel!"

Don Ho continues, "Big fat bubbles.. huge disgusting bubbles..."

I'm not crazy about Korbel, though.

Korbel is not champagne. And if I hired a singer, it wouldn't be a Ho.  :P

I am thinking of buying Rosetta Stone Mandarin.  I wish there was one for Cantonese, though.  I love Cantonese.  It sounds like Chinese if you piped it through a wah-wah pedal.
