When she isn't getting high, posing near nude, defending gay marriage, or pole dancing, she is
honoring the blaspheming of Christ and His creation.

Miley Cyrus didn't mean to spark controversy when she tweeted a poetic quote about the big bang. On March 1, the 19-year-old singer-actress angered some of her Christian fans when she shared a photo of theoretical physicist Lawrence Krauss, along with part of a speech he made in 2009. In the quote -- which Cyrus called "beautiful" -- Krauss expresses his awe that everything in the universe could have been created by an exploding star.

"It really is the most poetic thing I know about the universe: You are all stardust," says the renowned scientist. "You couldn't be here if stars hadn't exploded, because the elements... weren't created at the beginning of time. They were created in stars. So forget Jesus. Stars died so you can live."

I think we may be seeing the end result of the influence of Christian Freebirdism. :D

I would say that anyone who put people like Miley Cyrus or Britney Spears up as some example of Christian virtue or source of their beliefs has bigger problems than what MC does or does not believe.

Has Rebecca Black chimed in yet with her opinion of Keynesian economics?

I don't know enough about Miley Cyrus' supposed Christianity. What does she or her church believe about Jesus. Does she believe that he is God, the Son? I do know that she was baptized as a Southern Baptist but that doesn't mean much. She could be apostate in her heart.

Well, though I agree with your sentiments, you'd be surprised at what passes these days.  She recently was named Role Model of the Year by some group and acknowledged that she tries hard to be one.  And if you read some of the blogosphere there are "Christians" who are defending her bad-girl behavior.

She grew up Southern Baptist.  Her daddy, Billy Ray, is a professing believer who was raised only about an hour from where I live.  I believe the poster known as Ironwill went to a church with some folks in Nashville (or somewhere in Tennessee) that claimed she has always been rebellious.  In her early teens she claimed the good-girl Christian image and the notoriety it brought her, but in her later teens she's become a wild-child and pretty much eschews in form of conservative Christianity.

While we're at it, why does anybody care what those Kardashian bimbos are doing?

Pop stars are not good role models for anyone. And 19 year-olds say dumb things sometimes... though IMHO what she said was just fine if she'd left Jesus out of it. But I'm pretty sure I said dumber things than that when I was 19, except that I wasn't a celeb and didn't have Twitter. Nothing to see here, move along folks.  ::)

Do you actually believe that pop culture doesn't influence the youth?

Sure it does. But if you expect 19 year-old pop stars to be mature and wise, or even just less flaky than a bowl of corn flakes... well, it ain't gonna happen.  ;)
