I researched the Bus Workers' Reunion and came up with this:
Ray Young gives three reasons, and I have no problem believing that all three are true.
1) To show us that our labor was not in vain.
2) To encourage us to continue (or resume) our bus ministries.
3) To let us re-connect with each other.
On the other hand...

There are photos at the top of the invitation, with Pastor John Wilkerson being the first.
Wilkerson has continued the policy of protecting old scandals while not permitting new ones. When Dave Hyles showed up with his mother and wife, Wilkerson had the congregation give them an ovation, thus involving the audience in the Dave Hyles scandal.
And to this day, Wilkerson has not repudiated the false accusations made by the church and college against people who objected to the sins of Dave Hyles and Jim Vineyard

Some advertisements for the Reunion show four photos, while others show six. I'm dealing with the ones that show four.
John Wilkerson's photo is followed by three elderly men, all of whom are from the glory days of HAC. I knew two of them, and they were both Godly. Now, this is going to get complicated.
HAC forums are full of later grads who post strong, courageous statements about how they would not have tolerated these sins, while they keep quiet about the sins of the scorners on those forums. John Olsen and I both saw sin (although we didn't realize we were only seeing the tip of the iceberg) and both of us were sure that God had called us to stay. Nowhere in Paul's epistles does he command Christians to leave churches that he was rebuking for sin.
However, these men still do not represent the glory days.

When John Wilkerson first became pastor, there was some talk about returning to the glory days under Jack. And by showing photos of three leaders from the glory days, FBCH MIGHT be attempting to use their bus ministry (still the world's largest) as a tool to return to the glory days. But there are some problems:
During the glory days
1) HAC was a fundamentalist, Bible-believing college. Today it is a Ruckmanite, KJV-believing college.
2) The slanders, falsified grades, faked records, unearned awards, and gang violence of the Vineyard's Gangsters scandals did not exist until near the end.
3) The slanders and cover-up of the Dave Hyles scandal were minor events.
A return to the glory days with these three sins in progress is impossible.

In the beginning, HAC consisted MOSTLY of Godly young people who wanted to serve the Lord. They had been deceived, but they were Godly. If Jim Vineyard had the same responsibilities at Moody Bible Institute and Moody Church, he never would have come close to getting the bus attendance that he got at HAC.
Years of reading HAC posts have shown me that today's HACcers, as a group, are not that way.

Why did they start advertising the bus workers' reunion a year early? POSSIBLY:
1) So they would have plenty of time to cancel if it didn't work out (Not likely, in my opinion).
2) So they would have time to plan spending, based on how many apply (Likely, in my opinion).
3) To have time to contact successful bus workers they have lost track of. This could give them a supply of testimonies, speakers, and even staff members.

Great...another reason for Ray Young to start another social media post by saying, "So many have asked so here's my post....".
Word on the street has it that lettuce for the salads has already been purchased. That way it will be very wilted come reunion time. YMBAH if you understand.
