Lawmakers: Force Churches to Host Gay Weddings

No, terrible idea.  >:(

I do favor the state recognizing same sex marriage, as a matter of equal protection under the law. But forcing churches to host them is wrong, a clear violation of freedom of religion.

If a gay couple wants a church wedding, there are plenty of "open and affirming" churches that will be happy to have them. Why would they want a wedding in a church that doesn't believe in it? It makes no sense, unless it's just to stick a finger in the eye of conservative Christians... but if so, government should defy that.

Such a law would never survive the inevitable court challenge, because it's a clear violation of Separation of Church and State, which forbids the government from interfering with religion.  This is precisely the reason all Christians should support separation of Church and State

Just the next step in the progression of the homosexual agenda.....and yet another reason to vote for the NC Marriage amendment.
Thanks for sharing this, Rick.
