On one of the threads I made the assertion that it was Latin Vulgate Onlyism that got William Tyndale killed. I could not find it otherwise I would have posted this there.

Here is one of my sources. It is available as a pdf on google books.

The New Testament ... published in 1526 [at Worms]: the first transl. into Engl. by W. Tyndale. Repr. verbatim: with a mem., by G. Offor

Here is the title of the pdf file
The_New_Testament_published_in_1526_at_W.pdf

I love to read this kind of history. Maybe you will too.

Hi,

George Offor is a good writer, and was very knowledgeable on Bible editions. He was concerned about the exactness of the AV, he wrote on John Bunyan, he looked at how early editions like Luther and Gerbelius had the heavenly witnesses, and he had a book collection that took 10 days to auction at Sothebys.

I'm curious what pages you thought were most relevant here.

The url for the book is :

The New Testament of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: published in 1526 [at Worms]: the first transl. into Engl. by W. Tyndale (1836)

Hi,

Again, I am curious what parts of the book are directly relevant to the OP.
